Successfully received work permit in Ukraine for a citizen of the USA

After entrusting our lawyers with registration of his limited liability company in Kiev our client, citizen of the USA requested legal services of our law firm regarding obtainment of work permit in Ukraine for him as future manager of the company.

Among other things, the work permit serves a ground for obtainment of temporary residence permit in Ukraine.

Since registration of LLC took place in Kiev, the permit had to be issued by the Kiev City Employment Center.

Process of documents preparation consisted of several stages. First of all, our attorneys requested documents that could be provided only by the client himself. Among other things they included legalized copy of university diploma.

Meanwhile, our migration law attorneys helped the client to get all the necessary medical certificates and certificate of no-criminal record. Also, we attested copy of charter of client’s company which is also required to be submitted for issuance of permit to work.

When all the necessary documents were received, we had all them officially translated and notarized by notary in accordance with legislation in force of Ukraine.

Application along with other documents was filed with the employment center based on power of attorney from nominal director of registered LLC.

Decision about issuance of employment authorization document was made at the very first meeting of the special commission of the employment center. After this, our attorneys made all the official payments and provided receipts that prove the fact of payment to the authorities. The permit was received the following day.

Later on, the permit and its duly attested copy were sent to the client abroad in order for him to receive D type visa for subsequent entry in Ukraine. Work permit serves as a legal ground for issuance of such visa and for obtainment of temporary residence permit in Ukraine. Obtainment of the latter was our client’s goal as well.

Upon receiving the abovementioned visa, our client and his LLC represented by nominal director entered into employment contract in accordance with which the foreigner was employed as a new manager of the company. After this we ensured change of information about manager of the legal entity in the official state register.
